David Carlson, MD

Medical Director

Dr. David Carlson has been a fixture in the Dallas medical community for over 20 years. It was during his last year of residency in Family Practice that he began moonlighting at what was then called the St. Paul Medical Center. Just a few years later he bought the clinic. And, the rest as they say is history. He's worked hard to make BestCare the right choice for Family Care, Urgent Care, and Emergency Care in Garland.

Carlson is a proud graduate of the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Prior to which, he finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin. Raised in Dallas since the age of six, the doctor holds numerous ties to the local community. In fact, he went to school just down the road at Richardson High.

An avid history buff, Carlson loves collecting antiques, rare books, plus old 8 and 16mm movies. Not to mention, staying busy with a wonderful family during his spare time.

Lori Satterfield, PA

Physician Assistant

BestCare of Garland is pleased to welcome Ms. Lori Satterfield of Mesquite. Born and raised in DFW, Lori is well known in these parts as a highly capable Physician’s Assistant bringing ten years experience and deep medical expertise. Outgoing and upbeat, Lori is a natural “feel good person” who puts people at ease just by saying hello.

She’s a perfect example of Mesquite, Texas hospitality, with boundless energy and a genuine love for people of all ages. Lori graduated at the top of her class at Texas University and is especially adept with children (having two of her own) making your next visit to the doctor a happy thing kids look forward to. While behind the smile Lori takes her job seriously. Not only does she know every symptom and characteristic of disease but also all the latest on modern treatment procedures. Jamie, MA

Medical Assistant

Born and raised in Garland, Jamie has resided in Texas her entire life. It‘s this down-home upbringing that has endeared her to countless patients over the years – always with a warm smile and cheerful attitude.

Jamie began her career 2 years ago as an intern in Dr. Carlson‘s office while finishing her M.A. degree. A diligent student – her name was a fixture on the Dean‘s List. Not to mention, one of the few honored for perfect attendance.

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys spending quality moments with her two–year old daughter. Their favorite thing to do is take Kane the dog to the park on a nice afternoon and just relax. Because, in her opinion, nothing brings more joy than the simple things in life. Namely, spending time with family and close friends.

Felicia, MA

Medical Assistant

Felicia brings an incredible energy and passion to work every day. It should come as no surprise. She‘s dreamed of a career in the medical field for as long as she can remember.

Before joining Dr. Carlson in 2001, Felicia specialized working in Internal Medicine. This was preceded by a short stint at Parkland Hospital after receiving her M.A. degree. Of note, Felicia also holds a B.S. in Structure Engineering

Born in Romania, Felicia has been all over the world. In fact, traveling is one of her favorite things to do. While at home, though, she loves to spend time with her son and mother. As well as, relax by knitting and crocheting.
